More Stars to Play at the Czech Masters – Thomas Pieters and a Major Winner

Pieters is another addition to already announced stars like Danny Willett, Lee Westwood, John Daly or Andrew „Beef“ Johnston. And there is a great chance to have Harrington as well, a two times winner od The Open (2007, 2008) and a winner of PGA Championship (2008).

„The start of Pieters is confirmed, his team contacted us that Thomas would like to play here again. We are still negotiating with Harrington and as he has registered at the entry list at the very last moment, we all believe that we can close a deal,” sai Zdeněk Jehlička, Head of Golf of Relmost promotion company.

The only tournament of the European Tour series on the Czech territory will see all the previous winners this year. Alongside Pieters we all will be able to see again Jamie Donaldson (2014), Paul Peterson (2016) and last year winner Haydn Porteous.

The Belgian long hitter really started off his great carier here at the Czech Masters back in 2015, when he won his first title on the European Tour. He added his second win just two weeks after at the KLM Open, and one year later added his third one in Denmark.  He was also as a rookie one of the new stars during Ryder Cup 2016.

Harrington, as well as Pieters, has not had a good season in the US and did not qualify for the play off stage of the FedEx Cup. That is why he is now interested in coming to play at Albatross. Being Assistant to Thomas Bjorn for Ryder Cup he will have a chance to see many players still competing for the last spots in the European team.

Except above mentioned players the entry list at the moment contains several other great names including Thongchai Jaidee, Matteo Manassero, Eddie Pepperell, Renato Paratore, Nicolas Colsaerts, Soren Kjeldsen, Gregory Bourdy, Stephen Gallacher, Oliver Fisher, Marcel Siem, Peter Hanson or David Howell.
